Found outisde the Puglian town of Canosa di Puglia, the most impressive Masseria stands, surrounded by 75ha of land, the majority of which contain olives trees and vines and currently owned by brothers Nicolai and Fabrizio. Their grandfather had started up a cooperative which he sold the majority of his grapes to along with making a small amount of his own wine. When Nicola and Fabrizio took over the estate, they quit the cooperative and turned their focus on making all the wine themselves. Fabrizio was convinced biodynamie was the right path and in 1992, the domaine because the first in Southern Italy to be certified by Demeter. He now plants varieties at Cefalicchio are Nero di Troia (which Fabrizzio sees as a Puglianese version of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano, Primitivo and Moscato.
