Karl Schnabel crafts his delicious wines from steep slopes around the Sausal Mountain in Styria. Karl is only of the few vignerons that can ever truly state that his vineyards have never even seen chemicals. They are officially certified Biodynamic by Demeter since 2003 and are part of S.A.I.N.S meaning not only no S02 but no everything! In both the vineyard and the cellar, everything is done by hand. Plantings are Zweigelt, Blaufrankisch, Morillon, Rheinriesling and Pinot Noir. All cuvées undergo skin contact through the duration of fermentation. They are then aged in old 220L Burgundy barrels.
