The vines of Bodegas Cueva are about as natural as they come. Spanning back to the 18th century they don't even know the meaning of the word 'chemical'. Vigneron Mariano says the secret is in the old vines, over 60 years for the reds and 30 years for the whites. The vineyards are all located at 700m. Above sea level with the perfect diurnal range enough to bring out the best quality in the grapes. Some of the local grapes used are Tardana, a late Harvest / low acidity aromatic white and the antioxdant rich Bobal, that makes a fullbodied wine with soft tannins.
